Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency Warehouse

On Wednesday, I went and volunteered my time to the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency Warehouse in Benton Harbor, Michigan. This agency works in communities in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties. The SMCAAW delivers food to senior center, families in need, and homeless shelters. It was a great experience, i was able to work with local high school students.  Volunteering your time and hard work was such a humbling feeling, you feel so proud not only of yourself but for the younger students that where there doing a great thing, help their communities.

I worked from 9 a.m till 2 p.m, i chose not to wear my crown and banner because i was not only there to make an appearance but i wanted to roll up my shelves and contribute.  At the end of my day, myself and the local high school students put together over 1,000 of food to be distributed.  I had a great time talking to the students about what title i held and what the US Beauties Pageant system stands for.  Many of the young women took an interest in the US Beauties Pageant.
